Students were assigned a marching band uniform during Band Camp in August, and if applicable (SB10, SB11/12, Jazz), will be assigned a tuxedo in November. Every effort is made to best fit each student with the marching uniforms and tuxedos that are available. Please help keep them in great condition for years to come by following the Uniform Care and Wear Instructions noted below.

Marching uniforms and tuxedos are the property of Northville Public Schools and must be returned during the designated return day and time. Each piece is marked with a unique number which is recorded under your student’s name. Students are responsible for keeping track of items issued to them and each student must return the numbered items as issued to them. If a student turns in an item issued to another student, their own item will be considered missing and a replacement fee assessed. A repair fee will be assessed for any damages noted.

Northville High School Band – Marching Uniform and Tuxedo Return Information:

  • Marching Uniform Return Day: Monday, December 9 th, 2019 from 7:30-8:30am and 2:30-4:30pm
  • Tuxedo Return Day (except Jazz): Monday, May 4 th, 2020 from 7:30-8:30am and 2:30-4:30pm
  • Please mark these dates on your calendar! Due to the size of our band, we cannot accommodate special requests for alternate return arrangements. If you are unable to personally turn in your uniform or tuxedo, it is your responsibility to make prior arrangements with a fellow band student to turn it in for you during the designated time. ALL uniforms and tuxedos must be turned at the designated times as arrangements are made with our dry cleaner to pick them up promptly at the end of the return day.


Northville High School Band - Uniform Care and Wear Instructions:

  • Pants: PLEASE DO NOT LET PANTS DRAG ON THE GROUND!!!! The pants can be hemmed to the correct length, but DO NOT CUT the pants for any reason! They need to be able to be altered for a different student in following years. If pants come back frayed because they were not properly hemmed you will be assessed a fine.
  • Cleaning: The Band Service Fee paid covers the final cleaning for the year provided the uniform is returned on the designated day. If the uniform needs to be cleaned during the school year, PROFESSIONALLY DRY CLEAN at your expense. The Band uses Alpine Dry Cleaners (42295 Seven Mile Road, Northville) as its dry cleaning service. They take great care in the handling of our uniforms. For this reason, we recommend using their service if the uniform needs to be cleaned during the school year. However, any reputable professional dry cleaner is acceptable.
  • Wet Uniform: If any part of the uniform is wet please hang up to dry. DO NOT put in dryer. If plume is wet, dry with hair dryer on low. Keep dry plume in cardboard plume holder when not being used.
  • Gloves: Freshman and new students are given a new pair of gloves. These will not be turned in at the end of the year. Hand wash and lay to dry as needed. Gloves are a required part of your uniform. See Mrs. Ray-Hepp if you need another pair, replacement cost is $5.
