The 2023-2024 Northville High School Mustang Marching Band is proud to present this year’s marching band show theme, “The Queen of Soul: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin,” including her hit songs Respect, Natural Woman, and Think.

Our tradition is that YOU the students design, submit, and vote on shirt designs specific to each year’s marching band show. This gives band students an opportunity to show off artistic skills. They are available to order from Canton Embroidery on Wednesday, September 13 and ordering will close at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, September 20. They are available in short sleeve t-shirts, crewneck sweaters, and hoodies. They are optional, but fun to have. The student of the winning design receives two free articles of their choice. Show shirts will be distributed on Wednesday, October 4 at the after-school marching band rehearsal.

Design Requirements

• All designs MUST be original creations by you. You MAY NOT download images or any material from the internet – that is a copyright violation. Any entries with copyrighted material will be disqualified.
• Custom Ink can be used to create designs since their artwork does not contain copyrighted material; however, a graphics design program is best since it’s creative and unique.
• Multiple colors are okay (limit to 2-3); color photos are expensive to print.
• The following elements must appear prominently on the front:
  • “Northville High School Mustang Marching Band”
  • “2023–2024”
  • “The Queen of Soul: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin”
• The back will include a list of all performances and dates. You can include other artistic elements as well, but be sure that there is enough space for the 26 performances listed below.
