Registration is open for MSBOA All-State Auditions and District Solo & Ensemble Festival. Visit the MSBOA page for registration information and links. All-State Deadline is Monday, September 21, 2026 @ 3:30 PM. District S&E Deadline is Wednesday, October 14, 2026 @ 5:30 PM. The Percussion Ensemble Octet will be registered by Mr. Kollipara.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16: After-School Marching Band Rehearsal; Drumline Sectional
- Bring all Marching Band rehearsal necessities and dress for the weather. Rehearsals are every Wednesday until the final Home Football Game, unless otherwise stated.
- Any Band apparel that has not been picked up will be distributed at rehearsal.
- Band Photos have arrived! They will be available for pickup at rehearsal.
- Senior Banners will be displayed at the Sports Den Stadium on the fence in front of the Band bleachers. They can be picked up at NHS on Friday, December 4 at Band-O-Rama.
- Drumline Sectional @ 5:15 – 6:30 PM.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17: Music Leadership Workshop (optional); Drumline Sectional
- Music Leadership Workshop in Orchestra/Ensemble Room 132 @ 6:00 – 7:00 AM with Dr. Ray-Hepp. These optional workshops held on Thursday mornings are open to all NHS music students.
- Drumline Sectional @ 2:30 – 4:00 PM.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18: Marching Band Performance @ Victorian Parade & Home Football Game vs. Novi Wildcats
- MARCHING BAND PERFORMANCE @ Victorian Parade & Home Football Game
- Attire: Marching Uniform
- Marching Jacket & Bibbers – must wear at minimum a short-sleeve shirt and shorts underneath to prevent sweat on uniforms; do not wear anything with a hood since they stick out of the uniform
- Shako & Plume
- Black Marching Gloves – get from Mr. Kollipara at Wednesday rehearsal if you do not have them
- Long Black Socks without logos or additional colors – no footies or white socks
- Marching Shoes
- Front Ensemble (Pit) Percussion wears their Percussion Baseball Cap for all outdoor performances. Percussionists should purchase the Percussion Baseball Cap if they did not purchase it when polos were ordered.
- Locations: Tipping Point Theatre Parking Lot @ Cady & Griswold Intersection (Parade) / Sports Den Stadium (Game)
- Report to NHS to Load Trailer (Leadership and Front Ensemble): 4:00 PM
- Drumline Setup Drum Stands in Stadium: 4:45 PM
- Report to Parade (All Students): 5:45 PM
- Parade: 6:30 – 7:00 PM
- Football Game Tickets: For spectators, $6.00 via GoFan or pay at the gate. KLAA and NHS Passes are accepted. Gates at ticket booths open at 6:00 PM. No tickets for Band Students – they always enter free!
- No Pre-Game Performance due to Victorian Parade
- Kickoff: 7:00 PM (we will not be at the Stadium by this time due to the Victorian Parade)
- Halftime: Marching Show; Band Students provided pizza & beverages after performance (time depends on gameplay – we cannot estimate when this starts!)
- Post-Game Performance (time depends on gameplay – we cannot estimate when this starts!)
- Front Ensemble unloads trailer at Stadium before reporting to Parade. Sousaphones and Color Guard transport their own equipment. The Band will perform while marching the Parade. After the Parade, the Band with receive water before reporting directly to the Band bleachers at the Stadium for the Football Game. Either walk or drive, but traffic and parking may be challenging. No rehearsal at the Plateau and no Pre-Game Performance due to Parade; only the Marching Show at Halftime and Post-Game Performance.
- Load Trailer (Leadership, Front Ensemble, Sousaphones, Color Guard, Drumline) and return to NHS to unload. Sousaphones and Color Guard can send their equipment back to NHS on the trailer. Sousaphones must be in cases or they cannot be sent on the trailer!
- Attire: Marching Uniform

VOLUNTEERING
- Visit the Band SignUp for opportunities to volunteer with our band program.
- We have nearly 300 volunteer slots this year. We ask each family to participate at least once, but more is better.
- We are in need of a Lead Parent Volunteer to handle Home Football Game Drinks. Please contact Sarah Weber in the NHS Band Facebook Group for information.
NHS MUSIC BOOSTERS
- Designate the Boosters to earn money when you shop at Kroger and Busch’s. These programs require an annual renewal.
- Parents can attend monthly Boosters meetings. Visit the Boosters Page for the meeting schedule.
