Purchase concert tickets via Ludus. RSVP for the banquet by Monday, May 4 via the Google Form link on the event page below. Vote on Paper Plate Awards by Friday, May 15.


This Week’s Schedule

  • Drumline Performance @ Lacrosse Victory Day Game.
  • The Band Room will NOT be open for drum pickup prior to the game. All participating Drumline members were supposed to have taken their drums home after returning from State Band Festival on Friday.
  • Report to 8 Mile “Northville Sports Den” Stadium @ 10:40 AM in Drumline Hoodie. Perform @ 10:50 AM and throughout game @ 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
  • Pizza provided afterwards.
  • TUXEDO RETURN @ 7:30 – 8:30 AM and 2:20 – 4:00 PM.
    • Return Tuxedos (jacket and pants only) during seminar or after-school during the specified return windows. Tuxedo Shirts and Bowties are student-owned; keep and reuse for the coming years. Non-Jazz Seniors are welcome to donate their Tuxedo Shirt and Bowtie back to the Band if they wish.
    • Jazz Ensemble members keep their Tuxedo for summer performances, but those who needed replacements throughout the year should return their Tuxedo articles that no longer fit. All others must return all articles of their Tuxedos on this day within the return windows, no exceptions.
    • If you are unable to bring your Tuxedo within the return windows, you are responsible for having a friend/parent bring it within the return windows.
    • You are responsible for paying to have your Tuxedo professionally dry cleaned if you miss the return windows.
    • Students will be assessed fees of $200 for Tuxedo Jacket and $90 for Tuxedo Pants if they are missing.
    • SENIORS: Any missing uniform pieces will result in your graduation cap/gown and diploma being held until you return the pieces or pay the necessary fees.
  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
  • Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal @ 7:20 – 8:20 AM.
  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
  • Full Orchestra Rehearsal @ 3:30 – 4:30 PM.
  • Music Leadership Workshop in Orchestra/Ensemble Room 132 @ 6:00 – 7:00 AM with Dr. Ray-Hepp. These optional workshops held on Thursday mornings are open to all NHS music students.
  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
  • Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal @ 7:20 – 8:20 AM.
  • Drumline Moraine Fun Run Performance @ 9:30 – 10:30 AM.
    • Report to Band Room immediately after 1A Seminar to load drums into cars and carpool to Moraine.
    • Perform from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, which is the end of the K-2nd Grade Run and the beginning of 3rd-5th Grade Run.
    • Return to NHS immediately after the performances and report to your 3A/lunch as soon as possible.

  • Designate the Boosters to earn money when you shop at Kroger and Busch’s. These programs require an annual renewal.

Week of April 27

Symphonic Band 9/10 reports to the Band Room at 8:00 AM in Summer Uniform, performs at Belding HS at 12:45 PM, and returns to NHS by 4:00 PM. There are 2 of 4 bus chaperone slots filled for SB 9/10, but 2 more would be best so we have 2 per bus.

Symphonic Band 11/12 reports to the Band Room at 10:00 AM in Tuxedo, performs at Belding HS at 3:10 PM, and returns to NHS by 6:30 PM. There are 3 of 4 bus chaperone slots filled for SB 11/12, but 1 more would be best so we have 2 per bus.

Please contact your counselor to make a change to your schedule to join the class. The bulk of the band this year is made up of seniors who will be graduating on May 31. It is up to the underclass students to take advantage of this opportunity! The directors will provide a jazz instrument and help you learn it if you do not know how to play one already.

  • Music Leadership Workshop in Orchestra/Ensemble Room 132 @ 6:00 – 7:00 AM with Dr. Ray-Hepp. These optional workshops held on Thursday mornings are open to all NHS music students.

    • Symphonic Band 9/10: Band Polo tucked into black dress pants (no jeans, sweatpants, yoga pants, etc…), black belt (if needed), long black socks (without logos), and marching shoes.
    • Symphonic Band 11/12: Tuxedo (jacket, pants, shirt, bowtie), long black socks (without logos), and marching shoes.
  • Location: Belding High School – 850 Hall St, Belding, MI 48809
  • Symphonic Band 9/10: Attend 1B class; Dismissed from 1B at 7:45 AM; Report to Band Room in Summer Uniform at 8:00 AM; Perform at 12:45 PM; Return to NHS by 4:00 PM.
  • Symphonic Band 11/12: Attend 1B and 2B classes; Dismissed from 2B at 9:45 AM; Report to Band Room in Tuxedo at 10:00 AM; Perform at 3:10 PM; Return to NHS by 6:30 PM.
  • From NHS, students are bussed to and from festival. Students must ride the bus to festival. Percussion and larger instruments are transported via trailer. The trailer will go with SB 9/10 and return with SB 11/12. SB 9/10 brings all percussion instruments that are also needed for SB 11/12. All other instruments are transported via bus. Students are responsible for ensuring that the instrument and equipment they specifically use are loaded and unloaded from the trailer and buses, and safely transported to and from festival. Students may return from festival with parents, but must notify Mr. Kollipara & Mr. Rumbell before leaving.

Week of March 23

Jazz Ensemble performs at 3:30 PM. Performing members are excused from 3B/C-Lunch at 12:30 PM to report to the Band Room.

Due to host site changes that are beyond our control (determined by schools that volunteer to host at their school, and MSBOA), the possible dates for our State Band Festival have changed since last announced. The directors will announce the date, time, and location as soon as it is released to them by MSBOA.


This Week’s Schedule

  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
  • This is the final rehearsal before State Jazz Festival. All Jazz Ensemble members performing at festival must attend this rehearsal.
  • MSBOA State Jazz Festival is Tuesday, March 24. Our Jazz Ensemble performs at 3:30 PM.
  • Attire: Tuxedo
  • Location: Bloomfield Hills HS – 4200 Andover Rd, Bloomfield Twp, MI 48302

Symphonic Band 9/10 & 11/12 will both perform at MSBOA State Band Festival between April 29 – May 2. The date, times, and location will be announced once they are released by MSBOA to the band directors.

  • Attire: Dressy/”Sunday Best,” Tuxedo, or Band Polo
  • Location: Novi High School – 24062 Taft Rd, Novi, MI 48375
  • You are responsible for transporting yourself, instruments, and music (your copies and original piece/full score with numbered measures). Take everything home on Friday – the Band Room will not be open on Saturday, except for Percussion Ensemble. Arrive early and check-in at your assigned warm-up room at the State S&E site. You will receive guidance from volunteers.

Please check that you have all of your uniform pieces for your Summer Uniform (SB 9/10) and Tuxedo (SB 11/12) and that they still fit properly. DO NOT wait until late in the week or the day of festival to tell us that you have missing or damaged uniform pieces! Attire is a graded aspect of the festival performance.

  • MSBOA DISTRICT XII BAND FESTIVAL is Friday, March 6, 2026 at Ypsilanti Lincoln High School. This is a REQUIRED and GRADED performance for ALL band students.
    • Click here to volunteer as a bus chaperone.
    • Attire: Concert Uniform
    • Location: Ypsilanti Lincoln High School – 7425 Willis Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197
    • Details: From NHS, students are bussed to and from festival. Students must ride the bus to festival. Percussion and larger instruments are transported via trailer. The trailer will go with SB 9/10 and return with SB 11/12. SB 9/10 brings all percussion instruments that are also needed for SB 11/12. All other instruments are transported via bus. Students are responsible for ensuring that the instrument and equipment they specifically use are loaded and unloaded from the trailer and buses, and safely transported to and from festival. Students may return from festival with parents, but must notify Mr. Kollipara & Mr. Rumbell before leaving. District XII Band Festival is required and graded for all band students.
  • Pep Band will perform at the Girls’ Hockey Playoffs Finals Game on Saturday, March 7 since the team won their Wednesday, March 4 game.
  • The Saturday, March 7 game is 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Big Boy Arena (34400 Utica Rd, Fraser, MI 48026). It is approximately a 55-minute drive from NHS. Meet at NHS at 9:45 – 10:30 AM for rehearsal, then drive to the game. It is best to carpool due to the long drive. Food will be provided at the arena before the game.
  • Given this information, please complete the Pep Band Google Form to vote whether you can or cannot make these 2 new Pep Band events.
