Homecoming Parade 2026 & Football Game vs. Fordson Tractors

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2026

Varsity Football – Northville vs. Fordson

The Mustang Marching Band will participate in Homecoming Parade at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026. The parade begins at the Northville Public Schools Board Office (NOT the Library parking lot; NO parking, staging, or drop-off allowed in the Library parking lot) and ends at the 8 Mile Stadium. You can view the 2026 Homecoming Parade Route here (coming soon!).

The Northville High School Varsity Football Team will face off the Fordson Tractors at the Sports Den Stadium. At pre-game, the Mustang Marching Band will presents their 2026 Marching Show entitled 24K Heroes, including Holding Out For A Hero, The Mandalorian, and 24K Magic. the Homecoming Court will be presented, preluded by the Mustang Marching Band. At the end of the game, the band will wrap up the evening with more popular tunes in concert formation followed by the Drumline Feature.

Victorian Parade 2026 & Home Football Game vs. Novi Wildcats

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026

Varsity Football – Northville vs. Novi

The Mustang Marching Band will participate in Northville’s Victorian Parade at 6:30 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026. The parade begins at the Cady & Griswold intersection, by the Tipping Point Theatre. The parade route is below. Visit the Northville Victorian Festival website for more information about the Victorian Festival.

The Northville High School Varsity Football Team will face off the Novi Wildcats at the Sports Den Stadium. The Mustang Marching Band will take the field at halftime (no pre-game performance due to Victorian Parade), the band presents their 2026 Marching Show entitled 24K Heroes, including Holding Out For A Hero, The Mandalorian, and 24K Magic. At the end of the game, the band will wrap up the evening with more popular tunes in concert formation.

Week of September 7

The 2025/26 NHS Jazz Ensemble performed at the 47th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

The Detroit Jazz Festival is the largest free jazz festival in the world that takes place Friday through Monday of Labor Day Weekend. The NHS Jazz Ensemble has performed at the Detroit Jazz Festival all but two years of the festival since it began in 1980. No other group in the world – amateur or professional – has performed this many times at the festival other than Northville High School.

Bravo on an exceptional performance that has continued this record legacy!

We are in need of a Lead Parent Volunteer to handle Home Football Game Drinks for the remainder of the Home Football Games.

This is the pop, Arnold Palmer, Gatorade, etc…, that is available to the band when they get their pizza after halftime.

    • We are in need of a Lead Parent Volunteer to handle Home Football Game Drinks for the remainder of the Home Football Games.     • Attire: Summer Uniform – Band Polo tucked into BLACK DRESS PANTS (no jeans, sweatpants, yoga pants, etc…), Black Belt (if needed), LONG BLACK SOCKS WITHOUT LOGOS (no footies or white socks), and Marching Shoes. Front Ensemble (Pit) Percussion wears their Percussion Baseball Cap for all outdoor performances.
    • Location: Plateau (grass practice football field across bridge from Hillside) / march in parade block to Sports Den Stadium
    • Report to NHS (Leadership, Front Ensemble, Sousaphones, Color Guard): 4:00 PM
    • Drumline Setup Drum Stands in Stadium: 4:45 PM
    • Report to Plateau (ALL Students): 5:00 PM
    • Pre-Game Performance: 6:40 PM; water provided after performance
    • Kickoff: 7:00 PM

The Northville High School Varsity Football Team will face off the Brighton Bulldogs at the Sports Den Stadium. The Mustang Marching Band will take the field at pre-game with a performance of the The Liberty Bell March in the “Block N” formation, followed by a selection of popular tunes in concert formation. At halftime, the band presents their 2026 Marching Show entitled 24K Heroes, including Holding Out For A Hero, The Mandalorian, and 24K Magic. At the end of the game, the band will wrap up the evening with more popular tunes in concert formation.

Week 3 – Band Camp – 2026

2026 Band Camp is Wednesday, August 12 – Thursday, August 27.

Please submit all Band Fees that are necessary for your student(s) as soon as possible, as they were due last Monday, August 17. The Marching Show Shirt Design Submission Deadline has been extended to this Sunday, August 23. Band Pictures are this Monday, August 24. The first Home Football Game is this Thursday, August 27.

  • Make-Up Transition Day @ 8:00 AM for any students who missed their grade’s transition day last week.
  • BAND CAMP @ 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Any students who have not yet been fitted for a Marching Uniform must report to the uniform room this morning to be fitted before photos.
  • Band Yearbook Photos for All Students in Main Gymnasium @ 1:00 PM in Marching Uniform. Be in your Marching Uniform early to begin pictures promptly @ 1:00 PM. No shako or gloves for the photos. Photos are cropped at the knees, so you can wear marching shoes or athletic shoes. Today is the deadline to order BAND PICTURES (all students) and 2×3 SENIOR BANNERS (2027 Seniors only) from VSN. Week 2 – Band Camp – 2026

2026 Band Camp is Wednesday, August 12 – Thursday, August 27.

The 2026 Band Camp Schedule and 2026/27 Band Packet are linked below. Please review the SLIDESHOW that was presented at Band Parent Information Night (meeting recap below This Week’s Schedule). Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores should attend their transition day at 8:00 AM and report to Band Camp by 9:00 AM. Freshmen have a full morning of activities on their transition day beginning at 7:45 AM; they are already excused from Band Camp that morning and report to Band Camp at 1:00 PM.

  • Senior Transition Day @ 8:00 AM.
  • ALL STUDENTS report to Band Room for Band Camp @ 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Marching Uniform Fittings during Band Camp (AM only) for anyone who has not received one yet – complete Band Uniform Agreement if you have not done so already.
  • ONLINE ORDERING DEADLINE @ 2:00 PM for Band Polo, “Halftime is Gametime” T-Shirt, and Percussion Baseball Cap.
    • Order HERE from the Northville Stitching Post
    • SELECT FREE PICKUP! Mr. Kollipara picks up all items in bulk, then students can pick up their items in the Band Room.
    • BAND POLO: Required for all Band Students; Freshmen & New Students need to purchase; Returning Students should purchase a new Band Polo if their current one is worn out or does not fit.
    • “HALFTIME IS GAMETIME” T-SHIRT: Optional, but is great NHS Band representation. Most students, parents, and family members purchase these shirts.
    • PERCUSSION BASEBALL CAP: Required for students in Front Ensemble (Pit Percussion) since it is a uniform item used in place of the shako; optional for Drumline. Parents and family members can order these, too.
  • Marching Shoe & Tuxedo Shirt Fittings @ 1:00 – 3:00 PM in Ensemble/Orchestra Room, and all other Band Fees due by the end of the day:
    • In addition to paying the other fees listed on RevTrak, the marching shoes and tuxedo shirts are paid for via the NHS Band RevTrak Page. Only pay for what you need and what is required for your student (please read the description of each of the 5 items!). Once marching shoes and tuxedo shirts are shipped to us, students can pick them up in the Band Room. If you are missing the fitting day, you must email sizes to Mr. Kollipara, or else a $25 shipping fee will be assessed for late orders.
    • MARCHING SHOES: Required for all Freshmen, New Students, and any Returning Students who need replacements.
    • TUXEDO SHIRTS: Required for new members in Symphonic Band 11/12, Jazz Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble, and any Returning Students in these groups who need replacements.

  • Read through the Band Packet in its entirety so you are familiar with the locations of important information. Please only ask the Directors questions that are not answered in the Packet. Anyone who has not completed the Band Handbook Agreement must do so ASAP.
  • Marching Shoe & Tux Shirt Fittings on Monday, August 17 @ 1:00 PM. Pay for these on RevTrak. See announcements above for details.
  • Band Polo & Apparel Ordering Deadline on Monday, August 17 @ 2:00 PM. Buy these through the Northville Stitching Post. See announcements above for details.
  • All Band Fees due via RevTrak by end of day on Monday, August 17. See announcements above for details. Only pay the fees applicable to your student(s).
  • Nearly 300 slots need to be filled by parent volunteers for Band Events through the Band SignUp. Sign up now as we have many unfilled slots this coming week.
  • Volunteer for Music Boosters Events, such as Raffle Ticket sales, through the NHS Music Boosters SignUp Genius. All families must purchase or sell at least 5 Raffle Tickets ($20/ticket) for a successful fundraiser. The goal is for the Band, Choir, and Orchestra to sell at least 1,000 tickets total. The Boosters have a new website and email address, plus a detailed document that outlines NHS Music Boosters Activities.

NHS MUSIC BOOSTERS

  • Purchase NHS Music Boosters Raffle Tickets on Zeffy to support our Band, Choir, and Orchestra. All Music Department Families must buy or sell 5 Raffle Tickets ($20/each) for a successful fundraiser. This year’s goal is to sell 1,000+ tickets.
  • Visit the Boosters SignUp Genius for opportunities to volunteer and the Boosters Website for more information about the Boosters.
  • Designate the Boosters to earn money when you shop at Kroger and Busch’s. These programs require an annual renewal.
  • Parents can attend monthly Boosters meetings. Visit the Boosters Page for the meeting schedule.

2025/26 Jazz Ensemble at the 47th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival

The State Champion 2025/26 NHS Jazz Ensemble has been invited to perform at the 47th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival! The DJF is the largest free jazz festival in the world. We have performed at this festival since its founding over 45 years ago, longer than any professional or amateur band in the history of the festival.

The Jazz Ensemble performs at 1:00 – 1:30 PM indoors at the Gretchen C. Valade Jazz Center in Downtown Detroit. View the program book and full lineup on the DJF website. Students will either need to drive themselves, have parents transport them, or carpool with others. There are no buses or trucks/trailer from NHS to Downtown Detroit. The closest parking to the Valade Jazz Center are the nearby surface parking lots or Structure 8. The following parking instructions are listed in the DJF website FAQs:
