PARENTS: We are in need of bus/festival chaperones (5 of 8 slots filled) and tuxedo return volunteers (5 of 6 slots filled). We would like all slots filled! Please sign up here:
Tuxedo return is Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 7:30 – 8:30 AM and 2:30 – 4:30 PM in the Band Room.
- With the exception of Jazz Ensemble members (tuxedos needed for summer performances), ALL STUDENTS MUST TURN IN THEIR TUXEDOS ON THIS DAY, NO EXCEPTIONS!
- If you are unable to bring it, you are responsible for having a friend/parent bring it during these time ranges.
- SENIORS: Any missing uniform pieces will result in your graduation cap, gown, and diploma being held until you return the pieces or pay the necessary fees.
Tickets are available for purchase via Ludus for the All-Band Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. As is for all band performances, this concert is required and graded for all band students.
The Band Awards Banquet is on Wednesday, May 22, 2024!
We’re excited to announce there will be an end-of-year banquet at the awards ceremony this year! Mark your calendars for May 22 and keep an eye out for RSVP details. More information is to come on this special dinner and celebration event. Please reach out to laurieselik@me.com if you would like to help plan for this special event.

MONDAY, APRIL 29: After-School Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal
- Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
TUESDAY, APRIL 30: After-School Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal
- Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 1: Seminar Percussion Ensemble Octet Rehearsal
- Percussion Ensemble Octet Rehearsal @ 7:30 – 8:20 AM.
- You will need your music for Sonatine and Percussion Parade.
FRIDAY, MAY 3: MSBOA State Band Festival
- Symphonic Band 9/10 reports to NHS in Band Polo at 2:45 PM, performs at 5:55 PM, and is estimated to return to NHS by 8:00 PM.
- Symphonic Band 11/12 reports to NHS in Tuxedo at 5:45 PM, performs at 8:25 PM, and is estimated to return to NHS by 10:20 PM.
- Students are bussed to and from festival. Percussion and larger instruments are transported via the trailer (goes with SB 9/10 and returns with SB 11/12). All other instruments are taken on the buses.
- Students are responsible for ensuring that the instruments/equipment they specifically use are loaded/unloaded from the trailer/buses and safely transported to/from festival. SB 9/10 percussionists are responsible for bringing all percussion instruments needed for SB 11/12.
- State Band Festival is required and graded for all band students.
SATURDAY, MAY 4: Drumline @ Lacrosse Victory Day
- Arrive at NHS no later than 12:30 PM.
- Perform cadences at the beginning, halftime, and end.
- Pizza is provided after the event.

- The final Boosters meeting for this school year is at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 14 (location TBD). Any and all parents are welcome to attend.
