This Week’s Schedule

  • PARADE ROUTE
  • SIGNUP GENIUS – parade walkers needed!
  • Attire: Band polo with any pants/shorts and marching/athletic shoes
  • Location: Volk Corporation Parking Loteast of Cady & Griswold, behind Northville City Car Wash (the city just notified us)
  • Band Room Open: 8 AM
  • Report: 9 AM to Volk Corporation Parking Lot
  • Parade: 10 – 11 AM
  • Be sure to eat a high-protein breakfast and hydrate with water and electrolytes before the parade!
  • ALL BAND MEMBERS, including graduated seniors, participate in this parade. The band will perform A Salute to Freedom, You’re a Grand Old Flag, and God Bless America while marching the parade.

This Week’s Schedule

  • PARADE ROUTE
  • SIGNUP GENIUS (parade walkers & water)
  • Be sure to have a high-protein breakfast and hydrate with water and electrolytes before the parade!
  • Attire: Summer Uniform
  • Location: Cady & Griswold northeast corner of Northville Downs parking lot
  • Band Room Open: 8 AM
  • Report: 9 AM to Cady & Griswold
  • Parade: 10 AM
  • Ceremony: 11 AM
  • Ice Cream: 12 PM
  • The band will march the parade, which briefly stops at Oakwood Cemetery, then proceeds to Rural Hill Cemetery for another brief stop, then into Rural Hill for the Memorial Day Ceremony. They will perform A Salute to Freedom, You’re a Grand Old Flag, and God Bless America during the parade, and additionally receive water in the cemetery and perform God Bless America and the Star Spangled Banner for the ceremony. The band is dismissed after the ceremony, and Guernsey provides free ice cream to all in the Casterline Funeral Home parking lot. Return instruments to NHS on Tuesday.

  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM in band room.
  • Percussion Ensemble Octet Rehearsal @ 3:30 – 4:30 PM on stage.
  • Drumline members in grades 9, 10, and 11 report to band room for Senior Clap-Out @ 1:15 PM.
  • ALL LEADERSHIP & others who are available: right after school, we need to set the stage for the 5:00 PM combined band rehearsal – Percussion Ensemble instruments must remain on the pit cover for their 3:30 PM rehearsal.
  • “All-American” Spring Concert @ 6:15 PM – see the Poster & Program for concert order.
    • Attire: Summer Uniform for ALL – band polo (tucked in), black dress pants (black belt if needed), long crew-length black socks, and marching shoes
    • Percussion Ensemble Report: 3:30 PM
    • All Bands Report: 5:00 PM for combined band rehearsal on stage
    • Jazz Ensemble: 6:15 PM
    • Percussion Ensemble: 7:00 PM
    • SB 9/10, SB 11/12, and Combined Band Finale performances
  • Band Awards Ceremony & Banquet @ 6:30 PM – see the Band Awards Event for details.
  • Attire: Tuxedo
  • Location: Stage in Northville Town Square (by the clock on Main St)
  • Report: 6 PM in town
  • Rhythm Section: unload on Mary Alexander Ct behind the stage
  • Concert: 7 – 9 PM
  • Jazz Ensemble members transport instruments and music stands from the band room (no trailer/truck). Bring a plexiglass sheet or clips to prevent wind from blowing music off stands. Rhythm section must transport all their equipment and ensure they have extension cords and cables for guitars, electric keyboard, and amps.

All who would like the catered dinner must RSVP as soon as possible! Band students and siblings 9 years and under are free of charge; parents/adults and siblings 10 years and over are $25. Anyone is welcome to stay to socialize and enjoy the live music performance!

SENIORS!! We are still missing a few senior photos for the slideshow for our band awards banquet. If you have not sent these yet, please email them to proutyjennifer@gmail.com.

BAND PHOTOS!! We are looking for any general fun photos of our band kids of all grades that you may have taken throughout the year that we can include in the slideshow. These can be emailed to proutyjennifer@gmail.com or submitted to Google Drive here: 2023-2024 Band Photos.

  • If you are unable to bring it, you are responsible for having a friend/parent bring it during these time ranges.
  • SENIORS: Any missing uniform pieces will result in your graduation cap, gown, and diploma being held until you return the pieces or pay the necessary fees.

We’re excited to announce there will be an end-of-year banquet at the awards ceremony this year! Mark your calendars for May 22 and keep an eye out for RSVP details.   • Students are bussed to and from festival. Percussion and larger instruments are transported via the trailer (goes with SB 9/10 and returns with SB 11/12). All other instruments are taken on the buses.
  • Students are responsible for ensuring that the instruments/equipment they specifically use are loaded/unloaded from the trailer/buses and safely transported to/from festival. SB 9/10 percussionists are responsible for bringing all percussion instruments needed for SB 11/12.
  • State Band Festival is required and graded for all band students.
  • Arrive at NHS no later than 12:30 PM.
  • Perform cadences at the beginning, halftime, and end.
  • Pizza is provided after the event.

  • TUE. APR. 16 – Boosters Meeting @ Northville Sports Den
  • APR. 25 – 27 – NHS Drama Club Presents Mean Girls selected students in pit orchestra
  • FRI. MAY 3 – State Band Festival @ Manchester HS
    • Symphonic Band 9/10 reports to NHS in Band Polo at 2:45 PM, performs at 5:55 PM, and is estimated to return to NHS by 8:00 PM.
    • Symphonic Band 11/12 reports to NHS in Tuxedo at 5:45 PM, performs at 8:25 PM, and is estimated to return to NHS by 10:20 PM.
    • Students are bussed to and from festival. Percussion and larger instruments are transported via the trailer (goes with SB 9/10 and returns with SB 11/12). All other instruments are taken on the buses.
    • Students are responsible for ensuring that the instrument(s)/equipment they specifically use are loaded/unloaded from the trailer/buses and safely transported to/from festival.
    • State Band Festival is required and graded for all band students.

  • TUE. MAY 7 – Tuxedo Return jazz members keep tuxedos for summer performances

  • FRI. MAY 24 – Jazz Ensemble Concert in Downtown Northville
  • MON. MAY 27 – Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
  • MAY 28 – JUN. 4 – Band Leadership Clinics & Audition (6/4)
  • SUN. JUN. 2 – Graduation Band at Class of 2024 Commencement
  • THU. JUL. 4 – Independence Day Parade

  • Upcoming Boosters meetings are at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16 at the Northville Sports Den and Tuesday, May 14 (location TBD). Any and all parents are welcome to attend.
  • Designate the Boosters to earn money when you shop at Kroger and Busch’s.

  • Show Shirts can be purchased from Adam – email kolliparaad@northvilleschools.org to order T-shirts ($25), crewnecks ($40), and hoodies ($55).
