Week of November 17



Volunteer to help with our Band Events, as well as Music Boosters Raffle Ticket sales at Band, Choir, Orchestra, and Tri-M concerts.

We ask that each Band Family purchases at least five (5) NHS Music Boosters Raffle Tickets and considers becoming a sponsor. Please share Raffle and Sponsorship information with family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and any others to help support our Award-Winning Music Department.


This Week’s Schedule

  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM. Students not enrolled in 1B Jazz Ensemble are welcome to perform with Jazz Ensemble if attending after-school rehearsals. See the Band Calendar for the full rehearsal schedule.
  • Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal @ 7:30 – 8:20 AM.
  • Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM. Students not enrolled in 1B Jazz Ensemble are welcome to perform with Jazz Ensemble if attending after-school rehearsals. See the Band Calendar for the full rehearsal schedule.
  • Full Orchestra Rehearsal @ 3:00 – 4:00 PM in Band Room. These rehearsals are only for Symphony Orchestra and select Winds/Percussion from Band, and are required rehearsals for these members (see roster posted outside Band Room).
  • Music Leadership Workshop in Orchestra/Ensemble Room 132 @ 6:00 – 7:00 AM (before school). These optional workshops held on Thursday mornings are open to all NHS music students, regardless of holding any sort of leadership position in band, choir, or orchestra. These are led by Mrs. Ray-Hepp. Please contact her with any questions about these workshops.

  • Parade Route & Information
  • The Band performs A Christmas Special while marching the parade. BRING ALL MARCHING MUSIC since it will be played as warm-up music prior to the parade.
  • Attire: Marching Uniform
    • Jacket, bibbers, gloves, shako & plume (section hats for Sousas & Front Ensemble), long crew-length black socks, marching shoes.
    • Wear warm clothing under your uniform. Do not wear hoodies or other clothing that is visible under the uniform (e.g. jeans that are too long, etc…). Hand warmers are a good idea.
  • Band Room Open: 4:00 PM
  • Report to NORTHVILLE ART HOUSE Parking Lot: 5:30 PM
  • Parade: 6:30 – 7:30 PM
  • Drumline: Take drums home after the parade to use for Saturday’s performance.
  • The Drumline will perform for the Living & Learning Enrichment Center’s Santa 5K Walk/Run.
  • Attire: WARM CLOTHING with Drumline Hoodie & Band/NHS Apparel
  • Location: Northville Farmer’s Market – 550 W Seven Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48167 (directly across the street from Custard Time)
  • Report: 9:30 AM
  • Perform: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
