Please check that you have all of your uniform pieces for your Summer Uniform (SB 9/10) and Tuxedo (SB 11/12) and that they still fit properly. DO NOT wait until late in the week or the day of festival to tell us that you have missing or damaged uniform pieces! Attire is a graded aspect of the festival performance.

DISTRICT BAND FESTIVAL is THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 6 at Ypsilanti Lincoln High School.
Symphonic Band 9/10 performs at 5:50 PM & Symphonic Band 11/12 performs at 7:45 PM. All details are outlined below. Symphonic Band 11/12 rehearses on Monday at 3:30 – 4:30 PM and Symphonic Band 9/10 rehearses on Tuesday at 3:30 – 4:30 PM in preparation for the District Festival performance this Friday.
STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE is on Saturday, March 21 at Novi High School.

STATE JAZZ FESTIVAL is on Tuesday, March 24 at Bloomfield Hills High School.
Jazz Ensemble performs at 3:30 PM. More details are forthcoming. In preparation for State Jazz Festival and other performances throughout the year, Jazz Ensemble rehearses on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 2:30 – 3:30 PM. See the Band Calendar for the full rehearsal schedule.

- Attire: Drumline Hoodie

- Band Room Open: 6:15 – 6:45 PM
- Report to Northville FUMC: 7:00 PM
- Performance: 7:15 – 8:00 PM
MONDAY, MARCH 2: Jazz & SB 11/12 Rehearsals
- Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
- Symphonic Band 11/12 Festival Rehearsal @ 3:30 – 4:30 PM.
TUESDAY, MARCH 3: Jazz & SB 9/10 Rehearsals
- Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.

THURSDAY, MARCH 5: Music Leadership Workshop (optional), Percussion Ensemble & Jazz Rehearsals
- Music Leadership Workshop in Orchestra/Ensemble Room 132 @ 6:00 – 7:00 AM with Dr. Ray-Hepp. These optional workshops held on Thursday mornings are open to all NHS music students.
- Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal @ 7:20 – 8:20 AM.
- Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
FRIDAY, MARCH 6: MSBOA DISTRICT XII BAND FESTIVAL
- MSBOA DISTRICT XII BAND FESTIVAL is Friday, March 6, 2026 at Ypsilanti Lincoln High School. This is a REQUIRED and GRADED performance for ALL band students.
- Click here to volunteer as a bus chaperone.
- Attire: Concert Uniform
- Location: Ypsilanti Lincoln High School – 7425 Willis Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197
- Details: From NHS, students are bussed to and from festival. Students must ride the bus to festival. Percussion and larger instruments are transported via trailer. The trailer will go with SB 9/10 and return with SB 11/12. SB 9/10 brings all percussion instruments that are also needed for SB 11/12. All other instruments are transported via bus. Students are responsible for ensuring that the instrument and equipment they specifically use are loaded and unloaded from the trailer and buses, and safely transported to and from festival. Students may return from festival with parents, but must notify Mr. Kollipara & Mr. Rumbell before leaving. District XII Band Festival is required and graded for all band students.
- Symphonic Band 9/10:
- Attire: Summer Uniform – band polo, black dress pants (no jeans or sweatpants), black belt, long crew-length black socks (no logos or designs), and marching shoes
- Report to NHS Band Room: 2:30 PM
- Perform at Ypsilanti Lincoln HS: 5:50 PM
- Return to NHS: 8:00 PM (approximately)
- Symphonic Band 11/12:
- Attire: Tuxedo – tux shirt, bowtie, jacket, pants, long crew-length black socks (no logos or designs), and marching shoes
- Report to NHS Band Room: 4:45 PM
- Perform at Ypsilanti Lincoln HS: 7:45 PM
- Return to NHS: 9:50 PM (approximately)
SATURDAY, MARCH 7: Pep Band Performance @ Girls’ Hockey Playoffs Finals
- Pep Band will perform at the Girls’ Hockey Playoffs Finals Game on Saturday, March 7 since the team won their Wednesday, March 4 game.
- The Saturday, March 7 game is 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Big Boy Arena (34400 Utica Rd, Fraser, MI 48026). It is approximately a 55-minute drive from NHS. Meet at NHS at 9:45 – 10:30 AM for rehearsal, then drive to the game. It is best to carpool due to the long drive. Food will be provided at the arena before the game.
- ADDITIONAL UPCOMING EVENT: We have been requested to perform at the Amerman Open House on Tuesday, March 10. The open house is 5:30 – 6:30 PM. The Band Room will be open after school until 4:45 PM for instrument pickup. Report to Amerman at 5:00 PM and we will perform between 5:30 – 6:15 PM. The Band Room will NOT be open after the performance – Mr. Kollipara has another music commitment that he must go to directly after the Amerman performance.
