The “All-American” Spring Band Concert is THIS WEEK on Tuesday, May 19. The Band Awards Ceremony & Banquet is the following day on Wednesday, May 20.
2026 Band Camp is Wednesday, August 12 – Thursday, August 27.
Band Camp and Varsity Football Game dates are at the bottom of the 2025-26 Band Packet. The 2026 Band Camp Schedule and 2026-27 Band Packet are forthcoming.
This Week’s Schedule
MONDAY, MAY 18: Percussion Ensemble & Jazz Ensemble Rehearsals
- Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal @ 7:20 – 8:20 AM (all 3 pieces).
- Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
TUESDAY, MAY 19: Senior Clap-Out, Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal, AN “ALL-AMERICAN” SPRING CONCERT
- Drumline Performance at Senior Clap-Out. Drumline members in grades 9, 10, and 11 report to the Band Room @ 1:15 PM.
- Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM (all 3 pieces). This is the final rehearsal and required for all members.
- AN “ALL-AMERICAN” SPRING CONCERT:
- Attire: Summer Uniform – Band Polo tucked into black dress pants with black belt (if needed), long black socks, marching shoes.
- Location: NHS Auditorium
- Report: 5:00 PM
- Jazz Ensemble Prelude: 6:15 PM
- Concert (begins with Percussion Ensemble): 7:00 PM
- Tickets: $10 – NorthvilleHSBands.Ludus.com; cash/check to NHS Band at the door
- This year-end concert features all bands: Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble (WORLD PREMIERE of NORTH STAR), Symphonic Band 9/10, Symphonic Band 11/12, and a Combined Band Grand Finale of patriotic selections.
- The “All-American” Spring Concert is required and graded performance for all band students, including seniors.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 20: BAND AWARDS CEREMONY & BANQUET
- BAND AWARDS CEREMONY & BANQUET @ 6:30 – 9:30 PM.
- Jazz Ensemble reports @ 5:45 PM to set up chairs/stands/rhythm section in cafeteria.
- Attire: Dressy/“Sunday Best” – refer to Band Packet page 5
- Dress in nice, respectable attire. Be classy and appropriate. Avoid casual clothing. Think of dressing up for the Homecoming Dance, a religious service, or a special outing. Any colors are fine.
- Ladies: dresses, skirts, or slacks with blouses or other nice tops.
- Men: suits, nice slacks, or shorts with a polo or buttoned shirt with nice shoes.
- Ceremony: 6:30 PM in auditorium
- Dinner: 7:30 PM in cafeteria
- Jazz Performance: 8:15 PM in cafeteria
THURSDAY, MAY 21: Meads Mill Band Concert at NHS
- Meads Mill Band Concert @ 7:00 PM in the NHS Auditorium. The Meads Mill Bands will be using NHS Band equipment and percussion instruments. This is Mrs. Taylor’s final concert before her retirement at the end of this school year after teaching band at Meads Mill for 30 years! We encourage everyone to attend this special evening.
FRIDAY, MAY 22: Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal
- Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal @ 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
MONDAY, MAY 25: MEMORIAL DAY PARADE & CEREMONY
- PARADE DETAILS
- Attire: Summer Uniform – Band Polo tucked into black dress pants with black belt (if needed), long black socks, marching shoes.
- Location: Cady & Griswold
- Band Room Open: 8:00 AM
- Report: 9:00 AM to Cady & Griswold Intersection
- Parade: 10:00 AM
- Ceremony: 11:00 AM in Rural Hill Cemetery
- Ice Cream: Casterline Funeral Home Parking Lot after Ceremony
- EAT A HIGH-PROTEIN BREAKFAST and HYDRATE before the parade.
- The band marches the parade, which briefly stops at Oakwood Cemetery, then proceeds to Rural Hill Cemetery for the Memorial Day Ceremony, briefly stopping at the bridge before entering. The band performs A Salute to Freedom, You’re a Grand Old Flag, and God Bless America during the parade, and God Bless America and the Star Spangled Banner during the ceremony. Water is distributed to the band at Rural Hill. The band is dismissed after the ceremony, and Guernsey provides free ice cream to all in the Casterline Funeral Home parking lot. Return instruments to NHS on Tuesday.

- Several NHS Music Boosters Board positions for the 2026-27 school year are open: President, Treasurer, Secretary, Website Designer, IT (to help with credit card payments for donations and raffle tickets), and Fundraising. - Designate the Boosters to earn money when you shop at Kroger and Busch’s. These programs require an annual renewal.
