  • Marching instruments will still be needed at school for various rehearsals for upcoming performances (Pep Band, Drumline, possible home playoff football games, Holiday Lighted Parade, Band-O-Rama).

  • Music Leadership Workshop in Orchestra/Ensemble Room 132 @ 6:00 – 7:00 AM (before school). These optional workshops held on Thursday mornings are open to all NHS music students, regardless of holding any sort of leadership position in band, choir, or orchestra. These are led by Mrs. Ray-Hepp. Please contact her with any questions about these workshops.

  • Performances at 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM races for Cross Country Senior Night.
  • NO SCHOOL, but rehearsal is ON!
  • Marching Band Rehearsals are every Wednesday @ 2:30 – 5:00 PM until the final Home Football Game. Bring all Marching Band rehearsal necessities and dress for the weather.

Attention Low Brass! NHS Band alumnus and tubist Aaron Luebke has extended an invitation to all trombones, euphoniums, and tubas for MSU “Low Brass Day” on Sunday, October 5. If you would like to participate in this activity, you can register on MSU’s website below.

  • After-School Marching Band Rehearsals are every Wednesday @ 2:30 – 5:00 PM until the final Home Football Game. Bring all Marching Band rehearsal necessities and dress for the weather.
  • Drumline Sectional @ 6:00 – 9:30 PM.

  • Locations: Cady & Griswold Intersection (Parade) / 8 Mile Stadium (Game)
  • Report to NHS to Load Trailer (Leadership and Front Ensemble): 4 PM
  • Report to Parade (All Students): 5:45 PM
  • Parade: 6:30 – 7 PM
  • Football Game Tickets: For spectators, $6.00 via GoFan or pay at the gate. KLAA and NHS Passes are accepted. Gates at ticket booths open at 6:00 PM. No tickets for Band Students – they always enter free!
  • No Pre-Game Performance
  • Kickoff: 7 PM (we will not be at the Stadium by this time)
  • Halftime: Marching Show; Band Students are provided pizza & drinks
  • Post-Game Performance
  • Front Ensemble unloads trailer at Stadium before reporting to Parade. Sousaphones and Color Guard transport their own equipment. The Band will perform while marching the Parade. After the Parade, the Band reports directly to the Band bleachers at the Stadium (either walk or drive, but traffic and parking may be challenging) for the Football Game and will receive water. No rehearsal at the plateau and no Pre-Game Performance due to Parade; only the Marching Show at Halftime and Post-Game Performance.
  • Load Trailer (Leadership, Front Ensemble, Sousaphones, Color Guard, Drumline) and return to NHS to unload. Sousaphones and Color Guard can send their equipment back to NHS on the trailer.

Purchase Marching Show Shirts (optional) that feature this year’s winning design by Mizuki Kanda. Drumline Hoodies are only for Drumline members and families. These are required for each Drumline member and used as a uniform piece for Drumline-specific performances. Order by 11:59 PM on Thursday, September 11.

  • Band Students interested in participating or learning about Pep Band should attend this meeting.
  • Specific Pep Band music will be distributed and rehearsed in preparation for the first Away Football Game on Friday, September 12.

    • Leave instrument cases in cars/with parents (Sousaphones keep cases in the trailer).
    • Do not bring unnecessary bags (medical bags and Percussion & Color Guard bags are fine).
    • Ensure you bring your lyre with all marching music (no exceptions!).
  • Pre-Game Performance: 6:40 PM
  • Kickoff: 7:00 PM
  • *Halftime: Marching Show

This Week’s Schedule

  • Senior Transition Day @ 8 AM.
  • All Students report to Band Camp @ 9 AM – 5 PM.
  • Marching Uniform fittings in Band Room.
  • Marching Shoe and Tuxedo Shirt fittings in Ensemble Room @ 1 PM.
    • Marching Shoe fittings for all Freshmen, New Students, and anyone who needs new shoes.
    • Tuxedo Shirt fittings for any Symphonic Band 11/12, Jazz Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble members who need a Tuxedo Shirt.
  • DEADLINE to submit all BAND FEES via RevTrak and order BAND POLO from Canton Embroidery REQUIRED.
  • The NHS VIBES Group will be performing at Maybury at 7 PM.
  • Junior Transition Day @ 8 AM.
